What is the difference between a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty?
Rhinoplasty involves reshaping or correcting any or all parts of the nose depending on where the abnormality lies.It can be done to make the nose narrower, to reduce the nasal hump, to augment nasal hump, for nasal tip corrections and so on.It is done both in open and closed manner. In open rhinoplasty, an inconspicuous incision will be given on the external nasal skin whereas in a closed procedure there will be no external incision.

Septoplasty on the other hand in the correction of only the septum of the nose which is the midline osseocartilaginous structure in the nose.It is often deviated to one side and causes difficulties in breathing, blockage of nose especially exaggerated at the time of cold. Septoplasty can only be done by the open approach.
